This class will explore the ethics of touch as pertaining to an oncology client. Additionally, we will explore draping, communication, power differential and more. NC Rules & Regulations and NCBTMB's Code of Ethics will be reviewed. Please read the Refund policy as well as the General Policy below before registering.

The student will learn how to communicate, touch, palpate and feel the breast tissue of oncology clients. The structure of the breast tissue, different kinds of pressure that can be applied to an oncology client, how to massage in order to minimize lymphedema in the breast tissue and the arms, how to gently palpate and break down scar tissue ( whether recent or old), learn easy and effective myofascial techniques that can be applied to an oncology client even a few days after surgery/treatment, will be covered.

Students having experience with oncology massage & manual lymph drainage preferred, but not necessary.
